It seems the narrator was a live human being. An unusual touch. I also like the rapid delivery. Straight to the point. No bullshit.

Despite what we think about celebrities we see on the stage and screen, life for them isn't always better. Fame is very fickle and has many pitfalls. It's no wonder so many huge names we take for granted are pretty screwed up in private.

Great video - very fast paced and never boring
Most videos have fill-in info just to make the video long, this one had none of that
Thanks

Makes you wonder what went on behind the scenes on 'The Partridge Family' if nearly all of the children ran headfirst into substance abuse.

As related to John Amos; as a young white kid, back in the day, when this show was at its peak, I watched and like it a lot. Growing up semi-poor myself, and in a broken family; raised by my mother, I could relate to the family in many ways. As for the dad (Amos' character), I never saw him as a failing black man, but a man, like so many other men accustomed to the 'ins-and-outs' of blue-collar jobs; it was not easy for many lower skilled men to keep good jobs, regardless of color -- so many layoffs. BTW - I knew of many white men, friends of our family, who also struggled in life to keep good jobs, and back in the 70's and 80's, it was rough. If Amos felt his character set a "bad example, " I would not agree with him. His character was one that tried no matter what obstacles were set before him; that is good integrity, and a very good set of values. Amos' character always tried hard to work and to find work when he was unemployed, but all the while his main focus was his family; he always focused on his children's best interests on the show, as a good father should, as it was clear to me from the script... there is no shame in that at all. I liked his character and I felt he portrayed a good father on the show with all the right characteristics of a good husband and father. To me, it was a shame he was let go. I still feel his character on the show was great and important for the time, and I'd say, even for today. Maybe, he just wasn't getting enough feedback from others to confirm this to him. If so, to me, that was a shame.

How is having type 1 diabetes a "dark secret"? Seems there's a bit of stigma to compare having disease to other issues that were described in this video.

It’s heartbreaking and sad when celebrities finally achieve their dreams and then they unfortunately fall off the cliff.
