Mipmapping - Prerendered Texture Scaling
Surfaceformat - Color Codecs, they also occur in Textures for Source (HL2/Portal/etc) RGBA888 suited me well everytime
Multisample - Anti-Aliasing
Depth - No idea Sir

I think mipmapping is a thing the renders stuff the is farther away smoother.
But in a 2D game that doesn't really make sense. =\
