The updated guidelines, which are not compulsory but have been accepted by the Government, will apply from Dec 1 this year to Nov 30 next year.

Separately, Singapore's labour market improved in the third quarter of this year, compared with the second quarter, despite the continuing heightened Covid-19 restrictions.

The number of retrenchments fell and total employment decline also slowed.
