Your perceptions about the area are very informative. You give us a balanced view of what's going on in each town which helps us decide which option is best. Cary for all it's amenities is crowded. If you have to search for a parking spot (or just squeeze in somewhere) that means it's time to move further out. More people = less services or more taxes.

I have been living in Holly Springs since 2000. I have seen a lot of changes but I still think Holly Springs is a little town with a great quality of life . Thank you for your video

Good call (IMO). We lived in Preston Village (Cary) ~ 20 years ago and very sadly had to move away for work -- we're still not over that! We began exploring a return to Cary over the past two years but stopped for two reasons: first, the real estate market was hyper-competitive and second, as a new retiree, we just don't need the "hassle factor" of the crowds/traffic etc; the huge draw of all of the great employers has no value for us. The third reason is that it reminds me of growing up in the 60's on Long Island, NY -- constant growth in opportunities and traffic and hassles to the point we were living a Yogi Berra line, "Nobody goes there anymore -- it's too crowded!"😁

I think you made a good decision! HS will eventually turn into Cary for sure. Surprised you didnt mention Apex! Also the RE market is starting to turn even in Cary where we live. Thx!

I lived in Morrisville for about seven years, but ended up buying a house in Holly Springs. I have personally loved the town, and while I really enjoyed being close to everything in Morrisville/Cary, being that close to RTP was a pain. I mostly work from home now so driving 30 minutes to get to work is usually fine, and if we ever want to eat somewhere in Cary or do any shopping then Crossroads is really easy to get to. I have nothing bad to say about Morrisville or Cary, but Holly Springs has definitely made it feel a little less chaotic.

This is the most biggest mistake of your life. I'm just joking. Cary is getting too expensive. If you want a Small Town feel you must leave Wake County.

@Ellen Pitts, We are exploring the area to move and are not able to find information about what my 5yr old kid can do for his after school classes like swimming, painting, gymnastics, etc. Currently we rent near to Cary and we could find many places in Cary for this. Please provide your experience and opinion, now that you lived in both places. Thank you.

Can’t thank you enough for this video! I’m considering moving to Cary next year but I definitely can’t afford to buy a home so I would just rent. I didn’t realize Cary was so crowded and hectic, that might be too stressful for me. I’m definitely going to check out your other videos and research Holly Springs!

I like that Cary is getting more urban walkable and bikeable, holly springs is too far out and unplanned when I have gone there. The good thing is there is someplace for every kind of living around here still. I feel like Cary's growth has made it feel more close and homey and friendly in the 30 or so years I have lived here.

Glad you moved to Holly Springs. We lived there from 1999-2015 and sadly had to relocate. I miss it dearly and would move back in a second if possible. Plus it's not as far as some people may think to get to the surrounding towns. Enjoy what many of us feel is one of the best places to live anywhere!!

HS has big drawbacks like traffic, smell and power plant.

Cary to me is and has always felt like a large suburb of any major city. Holly Springs is fast approaching 100k.

We really wanted to move to Holly Springs (from our rental in Cary) but found there to not be much inventory in our price range so we ended up in Fuquay (but only about 7 mins from downtown HS) so I feel like we are really getting the best of both worlds! That being said we both aren’t excited about the increase in drive time but we are very excited to own a home with a little land!

Congrats on your move. Love the siding on your new home! I have also been eying Holly Springs but still haven't found a house I am interested in for my price point. We hope it will happen soon but not holding our breath any more! Also not living in the area it is harder to check our realtor is one of yours so we are in good hands!

Congrats on the new home! Have you heard anything about the Chatham Park construction in Pittsboro? It seems intriguing but not sure if it would be a better alternative to Cary.

My old hometown of Manhasset, NY quadrupled in size always heartbreaking. HS sounds great over Cary…congratulations to you!…I love your necklace!

I'm going to Holly Springs too (soon), but from Downtown Apex. I will miss the walkability I currently have. I have lived in major cities and I too hate to park in downtown Cary. I will be very sad if Holly Springs doesn't get the Wegmans though. :(

We moved from CT to Holly Springs (Woodcreek) back In 2016 and we love it. Our realtor tried to talk us out of it but we made the right decision for sure.
