This question is hilarious to me. Not sure anyone can afford to buy in that area anymore unless you're an out-of-towner.

When I last visited it seemed like downtown Raleigh is really going downhill. On the other hand downtown Cary seems to be going in the right direction. The park will be a game changer.

I love Cary, NC. But I can't afford it with my salary if I want buy a house. I can only afford a condo or town-home in Cary. So I had to buy a house in Alamance County. Love this video. Have you done videos of homes in Morrisville? It's nice over there too.

No. How is it possible the nc economy can support new york price? Local's income is way too low compared with the current price. We originally want to move there. However after hearing the offered salary, we shake our head. The cary price already surpass long island new york. But how much people earn in NYC? If the tech company continue to cut jobs, the nc real estate bubble will bust. Also, schools are full and there's not enough teachers. What's the point moving there anymore?

It doesn’t get much better than Cary. It’s safe. Clean. People are nice. And the downtown is exploding. You can try to find a deal but for the most part, if you don’t make great money, you aren’t going to be able to afford it. Luckily I was able to make a home purchase a few years ago before it took off. I wouldn’t even get approved for a mortgage for the home I own now.

Cary has become overpopulated but still a great place to be.

With all the new construction & upgrades to the town, does this mean taxes will also start rising as well?

We love it but I dont think it is worth it anymore unless you are coming with big $$

Not anymore, the small-town vibe is dead, taken over by yuppies, Yankees and they will destroy it. You met as well call it South Jersey.

I like your videos, but music was too loud and distracting in this one.

If you were honest, you would tell people that housing costs have more than Doubled here in recent years, the area is in the middle of an affordable housing crisis and a homeless problem that grows larger everyday. The people who have lived here for decades are getting priced-out and displaced from the area. The middle class has vanished, it’s just the working poor and rich who remain. If you move here expecting southern hospitality, don’t. Don’t care who you are, or where you are coming from, stay there. NC is full.

Cary's great for the food, the shopping, and the greenway. The cost of buying/renting though.. jeez. Even if you work in the triangle, the cost of housing will make you feel like you are just scraping by.

Note that the MacGregor (27511) side of Cary is VERY different from the Preston (27513) side of Cary. If you are looking for easier access to Raleigh, larger lots with mature trees, most of the medical facilities including Cary's only hospital, and a much lower chance of having your car stolen, you should focus on the MacGregor side of town. If you are looking for more Southern Charm, many more of the local natives live in 27511 as well. I have lived in Cary for over 35 years and the two sides of town are as different as night and day.
