Once you popped your popcorn, place it into a large paper bag, pour over some melted butter, and give it a good shake ;)

There is a little oil at the bottom of the pan, but the popcorn itself is not soggy or greasy ;)

if you like salted popcorn try this: add two teaspoons of salt into a mortar and pestle and grind into a fine powder, add to the corn kernels just after you add them to the oil. Coats all of the popcorn perfectly.

Yummy. I haven't had this sort of popcorn since I was a kid. We always buy the microwave stuff. I need to try this and I will definitely take a look at your caramel popcorn recipe you mention. Delish.

My way to season is, butter (of course), black pepper, and garlic powder. Most times a little cayenne powder to liven it up.

@onepotchefshow I make it with a mixture of butter n cooking oil & also I add the powdered salt (you can take table salt & grind it using your coffee/spice grinder as if you're making icing sugar)before cooking to make it mix well with the oil/butter mixture 'till butter is melted & the powdered salt is dissolved then add in the corn kernels. Enjoy

Another really easy way to do is to put 3 tbs kernels (about 6 cups popped) in a glass jar. Then, cover it with a plate and stick it in the microwave for about five minutes. It's a lot healthier, because no oil is being used. ^-^ popcorn is a whole grain, and is a healthy and delicious snack when prepared correctly!

If you are in Oz - I highly recommend buying a can of Massal Reduced Salt chicken (style) stock powder. Pop some in an empty spice bottle and sprinkle on everything instead of salt. It's technically vego, but tastes more like chicken than stock powder with chicken in it, go figure.

It is awesome sprinkled on pop corn.

popcorn--All American food. you know I have a microwave popcorn popper that I love. It takes 5 minutes, 4 minutes to pop and then you put some real butter on the top and go 1 more minute. It is GREAT popcorn! of course, you don't have to do the butter. It is NOTHING like that nasty stuff you get in the bags for the micro.

don't forget to sprinkle salt/sugar over the kernels at the start.
Can these be microwaved ?
