Algorithm.
1. eventListener from the input box content
2. get a copy of the input box content in the form of array
3. Use API to search for dictionary and load them to the html elements and change the visibility of the elements from none to block
4. If the content from the search box match to that of the html element visible block and highlight ..

You did a good work building this Dont get me wrong, i have taken/given more than hundreds of interview no one will ask that fully fledged question in an interview.
In a recent interview i was to asked fetch data from API, filter it and highlight only selected value

Don't get me wrong. Really they ask you these questions. Can you please suggest companies that ask this type of question .

They can definitely ask how to do it . Exactly as you mentioned in shorts 1 by 1 . Not to implement end to end.
