My interpretation of this song is being unable to have healthy romantic relationships due to past traumas, and having to grow up quickly because of said trauma, and had to parent herself from a young age, (hence the lyric “I was so young when I behaved 25) with little to no emotional support from her parents or friends. Holding in all that stress as a child led to rushing into relationships and being unbearably clingy, to the point where the narrator so head over heels you want to scream, but also feel unworthy of their love, and that the narrator can’t be with that person. The song has very contradictory lyrics. “Please don’t say you love me” and “One word from you and I will jump off of this ledge I’m on baby”. The narrator desperately wants to stay with that person, but knows it won’t work out if they doesn’t work on their own problems first.

Or, it could be being sexually abused at a young age, and how it plays into acting childish because the narrator had to grow up quickly. The abuse has affected the narrators romantic relationships, and shows the narrator having intense emotions.
