pretend all your arguments are being recorded. I started doing this and people thought I was being “the mature one” can really save you from embarrassment

An additional tip on if you keep a baseball bat for protection in your car, make sure you keep a ball and glove in there as well. Your lawyer will thank you.

Here’s a neat trick I learned from Tumblr; if you have tinnitus (ringing in your ears) and you want to stop it immediately, cover your ears with the palms of your hands so your fingers are aimed towards the back of your head, and then use your fingers to repeatedly tap the hollow of your neck. (It’s that spot where your head connects to your neck) If done right, it should kinda sound like a drum. Do this for a few seconds, and when you remove your hands, the ringing will either be completely gone or significantly quieter. I get tinnitus ALL the time, and it’s annoying as hell, so I do this A LOT, but this odd little trick literally clears it up instantly for me and I could honestly kiss the person who made the original post because of how helpful it is.

The advice to take pics of your kids when going somewhere just helped a mom find her lost 9yo at the beach this Memorial Day. Crazy how good this advice is.

Before going to bed at night. Do a 15 min speed clean up. Grab all the clutter as best as you can and put it where it goes within 15-minute s.

Focusing on the error, instead of who did it, is something I've been doing for years and it works wonders. Just skip the blame game and the defensiveness, and get to work fixing the problem.

On Christmas break last year I looked at a Reddit thread of tips for college students and one was “if it’s less than 5 floors, take the stairs, ” which was so oddly specific I remembered it and did just that on campus in the spring semester. In June I got a case of Covid that really messed with my lungs. I think it would have been worse if my lungs weren’t in such good shape from taking the stairs everywhere. So thank you, whoever recommended that.

I've noticed that if you're walking with a group of people that are occupied with talking or are distracted in some other way, wherever you move to they'll subconsciously follow you without questioning why you're suddenly moving across the street, or going to a different aisle. I do this a lot with my family, it's hilarious.

I had to start a new note on my phone of just "Useful stuff in general" because these are really helpful

I like how the TTS voice pronounces "Doritos" like " Doritus". Sounds like a Greek god. Or some kind of skin disease

UPDATE:

Took the dashcam advice and got one installed couple months back. Got rear ended this weekend. Can honestly say I'm glad I spent the money to get one.

Not from Reddit, it's from YouTube. The tip I learned made percentages way easier.
Say you're given 12% of 82. The trick is to take the first number for the percentage and multiply it by the second number, with decimal place shifted left once. Do this step for every number, then add all the numbers and you have your answer.

Example:
12% of 82

1 * 8.2 = 8.2
2 * .82 = 1.64

So our answer is 9.84.

Tip if you are forgetful and need a way to remember it. I intentionally misplace something or put something in an unnatural position.

For example, if I needed to take something for school the next day. I used to intentionally place one of my shoes facing the wrong way, or just even put a book in the middle of my door. Seeing these objects in unnatural positions helps me remember

State your point and stop talking. When you keep talking you weaken your point over explaining.

Ooh and the channeling people one, is SUPER useful. I'm someone who can hardly talk to people, but I remember one time in particular I went to a party/hangout with some of my friends and there were a lot of people I didn't know. I put on the facade of being very confident and upbeat and like, it was so strange people seemed really comfortable around me (usually my awkwardness seems to make others a little awkward too ^^') and I did feel more confident. So yess, I TOTALLY recommend if you're not confident, put on that facade and it really helps both how you feel and how other perceive you.

7:07 this logic is why pirates often wore eyepatches. It's easy to think that a pirate with an eyepatch was missing an eye, but the reason it was common is because moving it to the other eye allowed them to see in the dark immediately.

Reminder that "Never being the one to break a hug with someone you're interested in", is kinda dangerous.

*If verbalizing interest or even respectfully asking them out is too big hurddle for you, don't try seducing someone by dancing around their boundaries*

Like be sure there is established level of intimacy, chemistry or comfort If you're het guy.

Women can get away with physically affectionate tactics, but unless you are suave enough, heightening tension moves can back fire when you're wearing rose colored glasses.

Notice what distance they generally keep from you and don't make assumptions if you're both just working in tight quarters by necessity. Being nervous around someone suddenly also isn't sure telltale sign, especially if they are anxious, nervous or neurodiverse person.

As somewhat conventionally attractive autistic woman that used to have immense social anxiety, I CANNOT tell you how much becoming uncomfortable around someone sucked after noticing they have crush on me and them seeing it as a sure sign.

Was mistake understandable, yes. But then just constantly trying to sneak into someone's personal bubble isn't. (No hugs or even handshakes were ever exhanged FYI)

If you feel like people are taking advantage of you, straight up tell them you can discuss anything in the friendship other than money and favours and see how real it is

Look straight ahead at your destination while walking and don’t make eye contact. People move. Extreme, u fast walking runs- I mean walks in the family so this helps me a lot

If you are out of black ink, deepest dark blue looks almost like black too, but somehow more "official".
