If you wanted the position to be custom, how do you move it around to match your specs? Say you want it at 25% left margin or float right? How do you make those kinds of changes?

This looks like you did the change to the core files instead of creating an override. If that's the case, would those changes disappear when a Joomla update occurs?

hi. Thanx for the video. Its really good.
I duplicated it in CSS, php and in XML with the new name. But the new position is located at the below of original position. But i would like to adjust the size of the first position and i wanna make this two position in the same horizontal
Could you suggest me any idea please? I guess i`m missing a file to edit.

But you didn't add a new "position" as in location parameters and so on you just changed the name of an already existing position!
