I have an 05, 5.9L Cummins. Over 250k and it runs like new, no issues or even an oil leak and for a diesel that’s saying something. Great vehicle, you won’t regret it.

Find a good reputable diesel shop and become good friends with them if you plan on modding the truck. You don’t have to remove the fender liner to change the oil filter, it’s really pretty easy to get to, fill filter before installing. No glow plugs, has a grid heater. You done good buying a 5.9 truck cause you have way way less emissions crap to deal with. And you should get it vinyl rapped to match the 4 rotor.

Remember kids, don't over tighten your damn oil filter... hand tight is good enough 99% of the time.

Awesome truck Rob, next oil change make sure you use Rotella oil and fleetguard oil filter or Mopar, you might want to consider changing the fuel filter as well.

Cummins do not have "glowplugs" they have a grid heater in the intake horn that heats the air on cold starts.
