How I Made 100K my first year Towing!!!

I know I left out a few things, but when considering starting a Towing company the most important purchase is purchasing the right truck or a truck that will be a work horse and that will not be breaking down on you every week because tow truck repairs are very costly and they will put you out of business fast if you don’t have the money to weather them unexpected cost when they hit. So do not spare no expense when buying a truck especially if you can afford it, I was lucky to find a older use truck that was reliable when I first purchased my first truck. So keep that in mind. Another thing I didn’t touch on that I should of is getting commercial tow truck insurance. That’s another major cost to factor in when starting up a towing company. Commercial tow truck insurance can range from $1000 a month to well over $3000 so please be prepared and don’t be shocked when your agent get to talking ridiculous numbers. But overall I wouldn’t change being in this industry for nothing, I love it!!!! It change my life and put me in a position to really help my family and the people around me. So my advice would be go for it!!!!

Too bad you are so far, I would love to have you at the high school where I volunteer as a mentor. You could be a great motivator for my students who are not inclined or financially can’t go to college. You are proof that properly handling your money and making a plan can lead to success in life, all you need is the motivation and great work ethics. Be safe and May God always bring you home safe back to yours.

Just found your channel! I too was "let go" recently after the company I worked at for 26 years was bought out. Im taking some time off to decompress and figure out what Im gonna do next. It might not be driving a tow truck but watching your vids is inspiring!

Couldn't be further from the truth, my 1st year running my business was long hours, less personal life, hiring, firing, and training my team. Wanted to give up so many times but i already invested so much into it. Now i am starting to see and feel the benefits. Just gotta keep pushing. Dope content bro!

Great lesson! Thank you for expressing how important it is to operate your company legitimately. Do it by the books because there is protection in the books and more opportunities to assess more money when you operate the right way.

My brother had a Tow business. But his was big time. Big trucks, rollback and others. His insurance was almost $50k a year. And he had 2 salvage yards. But he was on rotation. Which meant anytime their was a car accident or big truck wreck and another person in the tow business, they cops had to rotate who gets the call. But the last few years he was the only one around. And he loved the big truck calls because they paid very well and he just enjoyed them. His wrecker business was a Million dollar a year business by itself. And he would even buy big truck's to turn them into wreckers and he had brand new roll backs. But if you can handle the tows, get on rotation with the cops. And yes he's right, word of mouth is great. And he worked 7 days a week whether he got out in the middle of the night to do the call or just dispatched his worker's who were on call.
Sadly he passed 8 months ago on December 28 last year a week after having his large intestines removed because of colon cancer at 59. And here's the kicker, he left everything to his ex-wife. Except a wrecker he left to his son and 2 pickups to his daughter. He would have left it to them but they didn't want to work and help him. They would steal from him. Steal his own stuff and sell it back to him. They are meth heads sadly. And his son already sold the wrecker to stay out of jail because his mom reported him for stealing right after he died. And his daughter already sold one truck to my son and called for him to buy the other. He has a dealer business. He worked hard all of his life even in school. He went to school but didnt go to class. He worked in the Garage on buses and janitor after. And couldn't read. But he still managed to have 3 million dollar businesses. You have to work hard.

You speaking facts. My step dad has owned his wrecker service for about 50 years. I started helping him 3 years. We're on the sheriff, hp, and police rotation. It is a dangerous job. People don't like slowing down and moving over.
