Few things that are not mentioned in this video, i've watched many other reviews so here's list of what's missing.
- Legion 7 uses 'vapor chamber' cooling which is about 5 degrees cooler than 'standard'.
- 7's iCUE drains more battery (might've been fixed), has Tobii eye tracking and different speakers.
- Nearly all Legions come with cheeped out RAM - holding back fps on CPU based programs/games. So consider buying dual channel rams.
- Nearly all Legions come with MUX switch to disable iGPU (free performance boost, but less battery time)
- Legions come with overkill power bricks which are bigger and way heavier than notebook needs. Its possible to buy smaller one.
- Legion 5 60wh battery can be upgraded to bigger one by sacrificing 2.5 slot.

And lastly there shouldn't be any warranty sticker or UV screws...but go double check that to be sure. While trying to open 7 be careful, few useers reported they've bent the covers a ripped few things. For in-depth review i recommend watching few Jarrods vids.
I will be be happy if you find this useful and if i spared you some time. 🎮

The 165 Hz screen on the legion 5 also officially supports G-SYNC as well as FreeSync.

Great video explaining the differences, wish it came out just a few days earlier. I just got myself the Legion 5 Pro with RTX3070 yesterday. It was a toss up between the Legion 7 and the 5 Pro, but in the end the price difference just didn’t make sense as ultimately the 5 Pro has all the same specs wrt to screen, CPU, GPU, while the Legion 7 offers more RGB and slightly sturdier chassis being all aluminium. I find the Legion 5 Pro is the sweet spot, as it has that QHD+ screen over the standard Legion 5, not to mention the aluminium lid and base making it that much more sturdier.

I went with the Legion 5 Pro (3070, 32 GB RAM, 1 TB SSD). I added a second 1 TB SSD and it's been amazing for the 5 months I have been using it. The highlight is the screen which fits my needs perfectly. Just to give an idea on how powerful the GPU is I ran Forza Horizon 5 on my 4k TV via HDMI at 4k resolution, Ultra settings and it's 60 fps locked and the GPU hovers around 90% utilization.

I appreciate your adding that you were being metaphorical about Lenovo adding a kitchen sink to the Legion 7. I was just about to strike it from my TO BUY list because I already have a kitchen sink.

FYI you can turn off the Y logo on the LEGION 5 PRO with the function+L keys.... same for the LEGION 7

Managed to get an AMD 5800H 3070 Legion 7 a week ago for 1600, it only just got stock again on their UK Lenovo website recently. For some reason the same spec Intel version was £600 more expensive at 2200 so going AMD was a no brainer. Felt like a great bargain.

I know people are already posting wait for Alder Lake Laptop videos, but realistically they won’t become truly available to buy whenever you want until next year Q4 late.

Owner of a Legion 5 Pro here. 3060/5 5600X

Reasons why I went for that particularly : I wanted a guaranteed good screen because A LOT of Laptop manufacturers cheap out on the Screen and I didn't want to deal with all the curve balls that comes with configuring the screen.

Best decision I've made. Yes it's heavy but it breezes through everything

And don't forget one important thing: with Lenovo you can ADD an On-Site Extended Amazing Warranty and the Accidental Damage Protection, until 5 year!

I had purchased a 5 pro 3070 in march, didn't get delivered for a month and half.

Then I ordered a legion 5 3060 with maxed out spec on lenovo's website, which got stuck in shipping in Germany (thanks UPS) until start of October. Cancelled that order

I THEN ordered the legion 7 3060 and funnily enough it came the next day. R7 5800h, the most gorgeous screen ever, 3060 maxP and the best RGB ever. Can run Forza horizon 5 at 100fps QHD+.

Everything I could ever ask for and am thankful for after Lenovo screwing me around for over 6 months

Went with the Slim 7. Disabled iCue software on it and it’s been incredible. Ultrabook quiet with great battery life on quiet mode but a great performer when plugged in using Normal and Performance modes. Yes it has a soldered RAM stick which sucks but I really wanted a lightweight well rounded RTX laptop and Lenovo makes great keyboards on their higher end devices so I’m in love

I’ve still got my Legion 5i with a RTX 2060, upgraded it to 16GB ram and 1TB SSD. It’s a beast, and such a good machine. Would recommend in a heart beat

The best thing about the Legion series is that every Legion Laptop this year has a MUX switch to disable the iGPU. So you can get better frame rates with less CPU and iGPU bottleneck than a laptop without a MUX switch that would force you to use an external screen to bypass optimus. The only two (maybe three) negatives for me are the x16 memory (easy enough to fix on the non-slim models, just buy different RAM and install it yourself) a sub-par wi-fi card (again, easy to fix with a spare Intel AX210 for about $20) and lack of user fan control (although there ARE third party tools for that).

If they released them back in April, I would have bought one, but I couldn't wait until June/July...

As long as you don't go for a model with a 3080 these laptops feel like very compact pre-builts that don't cost triple their MSRP due to the graphics card shortage. They really feel like very aceptable solutions if you really don't want to wait until the shortages stop.

You may not be able to change the graphics card in 3-5 years, but if you won't be playing at 4k in the near future then the 3000 gen should be able to last you for quite some years I guess and let you play at very high graphics for a good amount of years.

The only struggle will be PCVR in probably 5 years, and still these cards should be able to run VR games at low if they end up becoming too graphical complex in the future.

I went with 5 Pro (5800H, 16gb RAM, 512gb SSD, 3050Ti) and later upgraded it to 32gb RAM and 2x2tb SSD. It is really a powerhouse. And screen is soo good.

I highly appreciate the fact that you've provided plenty of coverage regarding the "dark horse" of the Legion series which is the "Slim 7". You are among the very few top-tier Laptop reviewers to give sufficient media coverage about this laptop. We'll done mate 💯 keep it up 👏🏻

I like your voice. It's not forced, the tone is pleasant to listen to. You don't speak to loud or too low. Some YouTubers are loud af, speak weird or don't articulate
