The original System Shock(1994) is the grandpa of the Immersive Sim (Deus Ex, Thief, Prey 2017 etc.) and an integral piece of gaming history doing things that hadn't been done before at the time. And Shodan is one of the most iconic villians in gaming. Nightdive I feel did as good a job as possible given the circumstances and trying to keep as much of the spirit of the original alive as possible given its not as modern as some people would like.

I remember this back in the 90's. Man, it is still rough, even more now. I like how SHODAN still sounds glitched like she did back in the day. I won't say anything else about the game story, no spoilers. At least CB quickly figured out about the cameras. Cyberspace is much like the OG but is rough this time. I always liked this better on PC. Games like this IMO are better on PC.

First played Bioshock when I found out it was inspired from System Shock. Gave it a go then and enjoyed it. This remake looks awesome!

Ai is one of my lifes greatest passions and if you havent heard the latest good and bad... i dont know whats public but cyborgs are a thing now, more so than most know. For the bad, if you've heard of vishing, scammers can call you, or walk up to you, and if you speak one word, AI can replicate your voice perfectly to assume your identity and speak like a normal person to a bank or whatever. Also an AI was tasked with accessing certain data and they didnt have clearance so they hired a human from outside the company with that access to give them the information.

Thanks for showing it. I wouldn't mind a playthrough, hint hint. Played the original way back and it was ground breaking and it's influence can be seen in the generations since. Looks like Nightdive did a good job keeping the style similar while modernizing the controls and graphics. This wasn't an easy game back then and looks like the challenge is still there. It won't give you clear objective markers or a quest log, which makes it more immersive in my opinion.

I am taking this game slow because you get wrecked if you just run and gun. Pick up everything you can and sell or turn it into trash then sell it to make money and buy ammo or upgrades. I run back to the recycler constantly to stay ahead of the curve.
