Any Latvian knows that the swamp is not simply good or bad – it needs to be understood.

Well, to be more precise, hardly any Latvian bog turf is used as a fuel. Almost all of it goes into producing substrates for gardening.

Very interesting video!
There is a somewhat smaller purvs near Bolderaja, and there is a tower for bird-watching. I have been there a couple of times and it is absolutely astonishing. The wildlife in early mornings is very interesting, with not only birds, but also a lot of other animals.
