A customer’s TikTok about missing cheese packets in Kraft’s gluten-free mac and cheese has gone viral, sparking online debate and prompting the company to take action. Abby Engel, a celiac patient who relies on the product as a safe food, turned to social media after multiple boxes lacked cheese packets. Kraft initially dismissed the issue, but after public backlash, they launched an investigation and promised improvements. FOX 5's Teresa Priolo has the story.

If i purchase something that says it contains ..A, B, C and D. When i keep purchasing it and D is missing in multiple boxes then that is fraud. 1 is an accident.

Processed food is deadly. I was misdiagnosed with celiac disease and dermatitis herpetiformis and lived gluten-free for 13 years before that misdiagnosis was caught. I agree it's a hard diet and when I did the diet very few people even knew about gluten intolerance but if you don't feed your body properly it doesn't work properly. I don't eat very much processed food at all and if I'm going to eat box macaroni and cheese it's going to be organic and it's not going to have all the food dyes and preservatives in it. Macaroni and cheese is actually extremely easy to make and with all the YouTube videos on how to make macaroni and cheese from scratch it's extremely easy to learn to cook macaroni and cheese without having to depend on a box and being lazy. That's what our dependency on processed food is it is downright laziness to not fuel our bodies the way that they need to be fueled.

As for the way the company handled it that was just downright disgusting and if they can't even be honest about their products like that do you really trust eating the food that they put out?

Good for Abby in finally getting heard.
But, regarding Kraft, like all other large corporations, they won’t spend a dime’s worth of effort until they’re forced to spend more. It’s the loss of more money that gets them going, not what is easier or right.

Processed foods may exasperate or even encourage celiacs disease.

Yeah that social media person needs to be fired. In any facet of customer service when someone complains the first thing you're supposed to say is that you're sorry whether it's your fault or not. Responding by saying that there is no quality control issue is the exact wrong thing to do.

If I were the Mac N Cheese BOSS at Kraft, I'd ship that girl a pallet of cheese packets. That girl would never want for cheese again. The cheese MUST BE RESPECTED!

This is normal today. No one in almost any corporation seems to care.

In this day in age of social media, companies need to keep track about their reputation online either they like it or not, they could be getting destroyed online without them knowing if they do not have a good social media team.

Kraft has changed the recipe also. The regular and extra creamy varieties are not the same as they used to be. There isn't much "cheese flavor" at all. it's not much more that eating yellow saltless pasta, IMO. I haven't had it in months but as a comfort food, bought 4 boxes (on sale, 4 for $5, too good to pass up in late 2024). The powdered "cheese" not the same, like changing to Coke recipe, Epic Fail.

Kraft: Another stupid customer annoying us while we fight climate change. Ugh.

you do not have a relationship with food. You have a relationship with people. First and foremost. Secondly, how about just making your own gluten-free stuff, instead of relying on it, the crack, mac & cheese people, it’ll save you a lot of stress and money, most likely. Start making your own food. then there should be no complaints.

Could just have some powdered cheese on hand for any box of cheese you get. Then it won't matter which company forgets.

Abby obviously has nothing better to do. Heres a nugget. Stop buying the product. Oh, but that would take away from the attention.
