everyone talking about neck strain. i use my top monitor primarily for watching shows or youtube or to put spotify up there. if i watch shows, i recline my chair so my neck stays the same angle. if its spotify, it’s about 20 seconds worth of putting songs on. it’s the smallest inconvenience amongst the biggest positives about this layout

I think the best is horizontal monitor in middle and vertical monitor to the left. It's great for everything, especially streaming!

This type of setup is great for circumstances where you don’t need to interact with that stacked monitor. Things like watching videos, discord, music, etc. but for any circumstance where you will actually need to use that second monitor this setup is likely very inefficient. Not only do you have to factor in the neck strain but also the strain from moving the mouse. Moving side to side is significantly easier than up and down so if you need to go back and forth a lot this setup will likely involve a lot of hand/arm strain as well.

I have a really advanced monitor layout I think you would like. Basically, and stay with me here, you have one monitor in the middle, and then no other monitors.

For me, I have a 34 inch monitor in the center with a 2k 27 inch on my left thats vertical, which I split into two (discord bottom & internet top). My desktop is on my right along with my mic that has its own boom arm.

It works really well for me and I think other people should try it out. Especially having your 2nd monitor be vertical, since it helps with productivity A LOT. Watching videos on it isn't a pain either as I actualy tend to prefer it (besides shows/movies)

Let me put you guys on the sauce: double or triple monitors all horizontal side by side a decent quality tv mounted on top. You have all the space you need to have all your tabs up school, work, trading and when you want to relax turn on the 4th monitor your tv.

Left side vertical monitor middle main horizontal monitor maybe even another horizontal on the right or even vertical but honestly 2 monitors is all you need

i feel like just getting the hugest screen you can is the best layout, then you can just customise resolutions and windows to whatever you want, 42 inch oled for me
