Hopefully Epic will develop a Flip-Fluid-esque simulation module that can be cached for real-time playback. Failing this maybe they will make it easier to import volumes from Houdini.

You forgot that Epic made it free to use the UE4 until you reach a million in profit! And it's free to publish UE4 projects on their marketplace. Take into account all the free assets and learning material they pour out, it's a no-brainer for any developer

It would be nice to see sidefx invest in blender to help a little with everything nodes but, more importantly pipeline support between blender and Houdini

I feel even Houdini Indie is too expensive for some people and I'm not sure but I think Apprentice is not usable for any production with it's limitations. I thought Epic will do something with Houdini like they did with Quixel but I guess that's not gonna happen
