So you buy an item off of Amazon which is like $6.00 just to keep you from inserting 25 cents in the cart, which you can get back by exchange either from the chain, the cashier or another customer and I can ask the cashier for a quarter if I don't have one. People, save yourself $6.00

It's called screwing over the next person. You do this and in line they empty your cart into the cart by the cashier at checkout. Then your now empty cart with no quarter in it is given to the old lady behind you. Her groceries go in your old quarterless cart. She then loses her deposit. Yes it's only a quarter but I'll pay that for my integrity and not short change the next person. Call me crazy but it this hack kinda falls into the definition of theft.

Yesterday I went to Aldi's with no quarters. It took less than a minute to walk in with a dollar to the clerk who quickly stopped for a few seconds and gave me 4 quarters.

I 3D print a removeable tool that is the width of a quartet but pulls out easy.
I also 3D print the piece that goes on the end of the chain.
Find a cart out in the lot. Pop in the plastic end to release the quarter. And then use the quarter to to release the plastic chain end. Leave the cart. You can pick up a few bucks on rainy days because nobody wants to push in the carts

Imagine asking your customers for a quarter to shop there in 2023. Went there once and will never be back. Didn't even enter the store. Not a good way to accumulate new customers IMO ..
