I learned how to drive my first-ever manual transmission vehicle of any type on a US-spaced 1996 International 4700. It had an 8-speed transmission with a split axle. To shift gears, you have to double clutch, which means engaging the clutch to get in gear, disengaging the clutch as I shifted from gear to gear, and then re-engaging the clutch while going into the next gear. The transmission had an H pattern with the gears lined up like this:
Low Range (1-4):
1st Gear: Bottom left
2nd Gear: Top left
3rd Gear: Bottom middle
4th Gear: Top middle
High Range (5-8):
5th Gear: Bottom left (after flipping the range selector)
6th Gear: Top left
7th Gear: Bottom middle
8th Gear: Top middle
Reverse: Bottom right

This episode tics all the boxes what I have done in my work from1980 on as freelance photographer for Truckstar but more as a single photographer in auto and truckrace sports. One thing I did not do is driving in a F1 Stockcar, as there was none double seater in that time.
But with Truckracing I drove the Sisu racetruck, The Lucas racetruck from Richard Walker and the DAF SRT racetruck
Nope, not in a race but free training time :-)
And you know the big Truck meetings at Assen but it all started at Zandvoort in 1980.

Great video Tim. Well done with that Eaton twin box. It can be very frustrating at the beginning, when learning, however once mastered its a lovely truck to drive. Great to see Andy enjoying himself.
