Vaccine side effects are actually a good thing

Every vaccine can have side effects like muscle pain, fever, or headaches; and some of the new Covid-19 vaccines are even likelier to give you those side effects than you may be used to. But the scientists who work most closely with vaccines emphasize that when a vaccination makes you feel sick, it's almost never a bad sign. And once you understand why vaccine side effects happen, you may even be happy to get that headache.

The guy that died in Brazil's AstraZeneca trial (5:16) was actually a doctor working on the frontline of Covid-19 in Rio de Janeiro. He got placebo and then was sadly infected by the virus and died from complications caused by it.

I’m a nurse that works at a small community clinic. We’re starting to do walk-ins and I love it. For my more anxious patients, I love sitting down with them and taking time to explain this to them and answer their questions until they feel comfortable with their decision to either take it (or not). I don’t encourage to take or not, as I try to only stay consistent with being a point of reference only when there’s confusion. So far, no one has declined after explaining, and seeing them come back for their second dose and remembering me makes my job so much more meaningful 🙂
