I’ve always found it hilarious that the song “Isn’t it Ironic” is totally devoid of any irony!

I’d like to nominate Peep Show for anyone who isn’t British to try and understand British humour.

Dude. That's a pretty good video. You helped me tremendously (I'm not joking). Can you provide some examples of brittish humor and explain why it's funny? Thank you

Nice points but as a brit, I feel it necessary to point out how the table of what we say and mean is incorrect. The part "That's not bad" really means it is bad sarcastically but foreigners see it as us saying it's good

After watching a bunch of British comedies I would add that British find awkward social situations funny. For example, there are three people at a party. The one in the middle knows the other two, but the other two only know the one in the middle. Then the one in the middle has to go to the bathroom and leaves the other two alone. The awkwardness of the two remaining persons trying to carry on a conversation will usually get all the laughs tracks from that scene.

When I tell a joke nobody gets it, not because the joke is too subtle but because generally people in serbia don't joke in such a way :(

I consider irony and sarcasm to be completely different and separate forms of humour. It kind of bugs me when Americans call sarcasm irony.

the more deadpan it is the harder it hits like when you share tips with family members on how you intend to kill them all

Im not sure python-esque surreality fits into any of these categories, and is probably the most likely to met with 'thats weird, I dont get it' of all types. It crosses over with some of the stated types and has elements of class comentary etc, but sometimes its just weirdness for weirdness sake.

We Brits tend to be hard-hitting, direct and shocking, often it can be mixed in with dark humour. We make fun of ourselves all the time, non-brits would see that as what the fuck is wrong with you but we just take it with a grain of sand

We have the exact same humour in Ireland on we call your banter "slagging"

As a person who grew up in 1970's Britain, I find sex dirty and something to be ashamed of.
