(NVIDIA) HALO INFINITE (PC) CRASH / LONG LOAD SCREEN FIX

If anyone is having issues in June 2024, the solution I found was to uninstall the latest driver with DDU and rollback the driver version to 555.85, I have a 4070 and I started the game and when loading it would reach less than half of the loading bar and it would crash completely. I tried everything, even reinstalling the game and that was the only thing that worked.

I've been quite literally waiting 5-10 minutes for the start up loading screen to finish loading, every time I wanted to play the game.

I spent like 3 hours trying to solve this and rolling back the NVIDIA driver worked for me, thanks man!

Bro you are the goat!!!! I didnt think it would help due to the videos date yet seen the comments and had hope!!!! I am almost silly to not think of the drivers myself knowing how faulty the new ones are, I know that people use ones over a year old because they are just best optimized for games

What happens to me is that when I start Halo Infinite everything starts fine but when it gets to where it says "press enter to start the game" I press enter and it takes a while to load and then the message appears again. I don't know if you can help me.

Guys, use old driver, 526.98 OR 537.58, these are excellent for long loading screen, and besides most of games increase performance. The new drivers suck, i have noticed that fps are low in most of games i used to play before.

While this did fix the issue I was having loading halo it moved all of my apps to my second monitor lmao how do I change it back ?

but what if u want to play other games which requiere a newer nvdia driver? ... cause I understand rolling back fixes the loading screen but honestly I'd like to play Halo with the newest driver avaiable

Damn, tried it, didnt work. For a game that is begging to come back to life, not very encouraging that I cant even get past the startup screen. Guess Im done playing Halo forever, RIP..

You can also clear your halo infinite cache and set your virtual memory size to at least 8000mb min and 12000mb max depending on how much ram you have in your system. If you have 32gbs you could go even higher but 8000 to 12000 is a decent number for halo to run smooth

I’m stuck between having Fortnite, which requires the latest driver to run on the latest update, or Halo which needs an old driver. Good thing this Fortnite season is trash I guess! Hope we get a better fix soon though!

Even on a 980pro SSD and using the old Nvidia drivers 537.58 the load times went from 5 minutes to 1 min 15 seconds. Still the slowest of all my games but better. I am talking about loading a saved spot in the solo campaign. Hit the stopwatch the second you click load the game to when you can play it. there are sever steps including internet connecting to the servers even in a solo game.
You have to press enter to move on twice during this.
I also set my page file to the same min and max size of 10GB and changed the loading videos to a tiny black screen 1k video file. Still 75 seconds to get into the game and play it.
Curious if anyone can load it any faster than that.
Once its loaded the in game loads are fast.

i downloaded the previous version and did a clean install, didnt fix the first boot issue. still taking forever to load -- guess ill try doing this giant work around

Im still having that long load screen when starting Halo. I followed your instructions, verified Im running the older driver, and set my settings as you show. Any ideas? I have a mid range PC (with window 11 ugh) but im not sure what i might be missing.

Can't you just revert the changes without doing all of this? I'm not 100% sure but I've had to restore my gpu drivers to the version before because of halo infinite and I didn't do all this.

After you do this, there is a chance that the first load may take 4-6 minutes again. THAT'S OKAY.
You are compiling data for the first launch on a new driver. Let the game take its time, and play one match just to make sure it's all fine.
