Turning out to be a great move by the Spurs, Barnes been playing great! Don't forget oher teams could have got Barnes for nothing too. Good job BW. Thanks for watching and GO SPURS GO!

He should finish his career with the Spurs. Just my two cents.

I don't see Barnes wanting to leave or the Spurs letting him go. He is a Spurs kind of guy. AND...he is Sean Elliot 2.0 He is exactly what the Spurs need.

I think his quiet leadership approach and CP3's vocal leadership approach is exactly what this team needed. Hes never been this wide open even with the warriors. None of them, even kevin Durant has never drawn a nightly triple or a quadruple team like wemby commands. So im sure these effortless 20pt games are going to be a normal and will add years to his carreer if he stays here. Its a fleece lol

Yes, BW found a classic low miles Barnes find who always had a lot of respect for Pop. He also said the Spurs were always a tough team to play against, so was looking fwd to the opportunity to be a part of our rebuild. The trade kicker solidified the deal. I hope he continues to do well.
Go Spurs!!!
Thanks Rich, 👍

Let’s keep HB for as long as he is willing to stay.

Is makes you wonder how such a productive player can go unappreciated for so long
HB was on that 73 win warriors team
But received 0 credit, helped the kings win many games, now the kings struggling, people don't know why
The key is to stop glorifying the ball hogs and take a closer look

Spurs fleece everyone. Unless a player wants out of San Antonio like KL the Spurs don't lose on trades. Just ask Atlanta. White was the exception. It's going to get to the point where no one will trade with the Spurs.

Yes, the Spurs fleeced the Kings. I've watched the NBA for almost forty years. There are certain teams that are just culturally unfit to succeed. They're almost the exact opposite of the Spurs. Whether it is mismanagement, bad drafts, bad luck, injuries, whatever, certain teams just can't quite get it right. The Hawks, Knicks, Kings, Clippers, Blazers, Bulls, and others. They're almost the exact opposite of the Spurs. Even when these teams have success, it is short-lived, interrupting their decades of misery with the occasional ray of hope.

Honestly I see HB as a spur the rest of his career, he is really what we look for in our players. I think the spurs organization will want to resign him, especially the way he has been playing with Vic

I dont think that they will trade Barnes. They will only trade if there is a big opportunity or if they see that the trade will be good for Barnes. There have been bad players and they have keep them until their contract is expired. The Team is young and a veteran like him is a must to have.

Barnes was seen last year as an old player whose stats were decreasing. Especially his defense which had been very good in his past years seemed to be also decreasing. I heard a lot of experts explaining that the Spurs would receive a player with lot of experience (NBA title winner !!) but who should not deliver what expected ("he should be better on the bench than in a line-up").
The Derozan's trade gives an opportunity for the Spurs using his financial flexibility to get an experimented player along with a 2031 non protected first round pick swap with Sacramento. The rumours told that Sacramento suggested Barnes or Huerter.
I really think that the main goal for the Spurs' rebuilding in this operation was to get the 2031 first round pick even if Barnes finally turned to be a fail. Two years at 19M$ won't affect the Spurs' finance (they need btw to keep flexibility to sign a max contract with Wemby).

Finally Barnes seems to get a second youth and bring more than his experience and knowledge but some high performances. Good for the Spurs !!

Barnes is only 32 years old and will be almost 34 years old when his contract will end. He could be resigned for much less than his current salary (surely around 12 M$ per season). When comparing with the Zach Collins's or Keldon Johnson's contracts, it wouldn't be a mistake to sign him !!!

I agree with you it's not a fleecing as the Kings knew they were giving up a good player, but they didn't have a lot of need at his position. I'm sure they didn't want to move him, but it is a great thing for the Spurs that they had to.

I was also a little surprised about the player of the week thing, but I think it is more a function of you can't be the player of the week on a losing team. I also imagine Wemby getting his if the Spurs keep winning. It's been fun watching games this season outside of a couple of games

Giants need to take notes from Spurs on how to do a rebuild now

Would be nice to get him another title as a Spurs player.

If he remains around 40% from 3's, his PPG would probably go up to around 15. I could see a contender willing to offload a non productive contract and a first rounder.

So what if the kings got fleeced!! Its a business afterall +HB is a good fit with the spurs..just need to trade for a stretch 4 can defend & shoot a little bit..
