The Bradley is a 'perfect vehicle' precisely because of its troubled history. Once a boondoggle, its come to symbolize smart engineering and sound armored fighting doctrine.

Still, I'm surprised the pair of M2s managed to fire and maneuver so well while hauling around the sheer weight of brass those crews must have between their legs.

in the first gulf war the bradley out flanked and destroyed many t-72's. their tow missles were and are deadly.

The biggest problem was the Bradley carries 2 types of ammunition. One if High Explosives and the other is Armor Piercing. The AP round feed jammed so they only had HE. The gunner of the Bradley, even though rather new, stayed calm and knew his best chance of surviving was to blind the T-90. He took out all the sights located on the hull and turret of the T-90 then kept peppering it with rounds until they crashed the tank and abandoned it. The Driver of the Bradley had never driven a tank before. They only had the 2 crew instead of the normal 3 also. It they had AP rounds the fight would have been much worse on the Russians. Even though it is unlikely they could have made it through the front armor, the could have easily made it through the side armor of the hull and the turret.

Reminder that Burton is a hack whose idea for a strike craft was a crappy gun-only plane with minimum avionics whose role was to, by his own words, "flood the battlefield with swarms of airplanes".
Also yeah no shit weapons that greatly outmatch a Bradley's armor protection fired in critical areas would cause severe damage and casualties. That'd be like shooting a Toyota Camry with an RPG-7 in the fuel tank and musing "hm yes, this car is not protected against RPGs and it's destroyed when its fuel tank is blown up".

Calling a Bradley "lightly armed" is pretty nuts. I mean, 2 heavy amti tank missles, 2 medium machine guns, a heavy machine gun, and a 25mm cannon isn't exactly what I would call light.
