I just used a DA for the 1st time and went with Meguiars ultimate compound followed by the ultimate polish, it turned out very good and I didn't ruin anything. I'm actually surprised how it came out for my 1st time. Gives me confidence to go after more defects.

I must thank you Scott. I was at the auto parts store last week end. I bought the turtle wax be cause it was much cheaper. I figured Meguiar's was most likly a bunch of marketing bull. I watch your channel often & I must thank you for helping us back yard guys with your knowledge.

I think anyone with normal wear and tear on their paint from using car washes and normal stuff and bought the HF DA and the ultimate compound and polish can make their car look great. May not kill 2000 grit marks but most people that care at all for their car don't have scratches like that in the paint.
I like that they offer a version to the masses that can't hurt your paint. Even if you did 3 rounds of ultimate compound you can't remove enough clear to damage.
Yes other pro products are more efficient but for the masses, the ultimate compound and polish are a nice "safe" product that can still do some work

Dude just had to say. I love your channel. I'm detail oriented and I'm interested in detailing and I'm building up a basic detail set up and you have helped me so much. I'm not planning on opening a detailing company but i do plan on paying for all my equipment with side jobs on friends and family vehicles. I've bee known for flipping a car from time to time and this will help so much. Thanks again for your extremely detailed instructions. I love how you don't edit and we can see start to finish.

Thanks for video! It's a great idea, to compare the retail products. I know it just helped me out! Because I don't have alot of time to spend on my car. So by knowing I could get decent results by purchasing one product verses another is a huge help! Plus it may help others who are on a tight budget. Yes the Meguirs may cost more, but you'll receive better results in the long run.

Just want to say thanks for giving me the courage to buy the HF DA Polisher. I have been using it for months now with no signs of quitting. I got the extended coverage and I feel like it is a great DA to start out with for the weekend warrior. Cheers!

I love all of Meguiars and Mothers products. Ive never liked anything from Turtle Wax besides their chrome polish. I'm not a pro but I have always had a clean car if it was for shows or just to be clean. Awesome job I agree with a whole lot of your videos. Thanks for putting out great tips and suggestions for doing different things its helped me step it up a lot. Thanks again.

This guy's uploads are superb. I might add that I got somewhat different results in my own experiment a month back. Many variables are involved, technique, type of paint (OEM vs non OEM), temperature, pads etc. I wet sanded my entire car last month and was also curious. I used the Turtle Wax product on the front bumper and used M105 on the rest of the car. DA with cotton/terry bonnet. The front bumper looked amazing and just as good as the rest of the car done with M105 but I did notice you had to be FAST with the Turtle Wax product. The paint was non OEM and was very finicky at times. I wasn't afraid because I was the one who painted it a year ago but got lots of orange peel as this was my 2nd time painting an entire car. Finished off car with M205 and finally Gold Class wax. The car looks amazing and gets looked at in traffic. It's a 20 year old car mind you. Thank you for your informative videos keep up the great work !

I used Meguiars today for the first time with a Harbor Freight DA. I have a black Toyota 4Runner that has spiderweb scratches from carwash this winter. I would be way to nervous to have mine on such a high speed. Anyway the Ultimate Compound worked great. I would say it lifted 80 to 90 percent of the scratches. That's good enough for me looks great. I used an orange pad.
