We didn’t say this in the video, I see all of the comments asking why we still can’t get married/ at a new location. We put money down for the venue, food, hotels etc. so if we don’t use the same places/ vendors we will lose all of our money. Therefore we have to wait for the venue to get repaired until we can get married and have a wedding.

I can't imagine how disappointed you two must be at having your wedding taken away from you by the events of the hurricane but I'm impressed by the maturity you're showing about it all. Your wedding will happen as you say just not when you've originally planned it but when it does come it's gonna be awesome. So stay strong and all will be good.

You can still get married on that day at a courthouse and then have a reception and everything at a later date with your friends and family. My spouse and I did that when we needed too.

Guys, keep the date, just reschedule for a simpler wedding and reception. Use the money you would have spent as a charitable donation to help the people where your wedding would have been. In future years, you can return there after it has been restored, and be joyous that you were a part of the rebuilding! In the long run, doing something like this will give you far more long lasting joy than an afternoon party!

For anyone coming here first, the wedding’s NOT off. Canceling/calling off a wedding means that the wedding is no longer going to happen AT ALL. They say the wedding “isn’t going to happen”, but what they mean is that it’s being postponed. That in and of itself isn’t an issue, but like every other social media couple, they portray it as something it’s not, often just to get views. I’m not saying these two aren’t sincere in their sympathy, but you can do it without stringing people along. If it was an isolated thing, sure, but it’s almost a trend with social media couples.

Girl, I completely feel you when you said that you put so many details and visualize and it all gets stripped from you. I want you to know that the feeling of sadness gets better with time.
My mother in law passed away 2 days before our wedding. We are rescheduling for January but just seeing our old date is still devastating. I went ahead and threw everything with the date away and am reordering it all. Praying for y’all as you continue to plan.
