Sonic and Amy Rose have been a will-they-won't-they type deal forever... but only in poor Amy's head. All the girl wants is for the boy she likes to notice her, so she's turned to a friend for advice. Naturally. It's just a shame that friend is Tails.

Watch Sonic the Hedgehog turn down the advances of a young woman in our latest cartoon... and also make sure to never use any of Miles' advice in your own life. That fox is messed up...

If I had a nickel for every time Mashed portrayed Tails as a psychopathic maniac, I'd have 2 nickels. Which isn't a lot, but it's weird that it's happened twice.

Tails being emotionally manipulative makes a scary amount of sense. He wants to be Sonic's best friend and Amy getting into a serious relationship with Sonic could prevent that, so he underhandedly gives her advice that makes Sonic hate her and destroys her confidence.

He doesn't have to bother dealing with Knuckles, because while he is also Sonic's friend, he tends to stick near his island

“You’ve got the break him down so he can see how much he needs you”

This is actually some great foreshadowing when you look into it. Tails broke Amy down. He used her love for Sonic to his advantage, giving her advice he knew wouldn’t work, as well as giving them the same advice. He broke down Amy’s self-confidence. He broke her down, and made her more dependent on him because who else could she go to for advice other than Sonic’s best friend?

This is just a theory/HC, so take this with a grain of salt

I get it now. The explosion in Tails' lab was SH Tails killing the real Tails and replacing him, LITERALLY IN HIS FIRST LINE- "You could say I'm my own worst enemy." You guys are so clever.

The way Tails just keeps emotionally manipulating Amy and exploits her devotion and daresay obsession with Sonic into doing actions that he knows won't work is just brilliant. Constantly whittling her already low self-esteem down to the point to where Amy will do *anything* to gain Sonic's affection just shows how much of a Machiavellian, gaslighting genius Tails really is. Forget Robotnik ever being a threat (like he was in the old Archie comics and the SatAM TV series), Tails is the true villain here. I'm almost inclined to call him a psychopath.

It's kind of heart breaking to see Amy so willing to keep chasing Sonic and changing herself for him even though her feelings for him are obviously not mutual. It really illustrates how unhealthy it can be to get completely obsessed with one person.

Amys voice acting Is just GOD tier, it’s exactly how I would think she’d sound like and more

Two things
1. Amy is perfectly in character. Sweet, naive and love sick without crossing (too much) into creepy territory.
2. You actually made me scared of Tails... you managed to make that Kitsune boy terrifying.

6:26 "I love him, Miles" God, the voice actress actually hit that one out the park. Hell, Tails and Amy both sounded better casted than they often are in the actual shows

Everyone talks about the S.H.!Tails foreshadowing, but nobody talks about Sonic. The reveal that he was always in love with her makes this more heartbreaking

I notice a lot of people saying Amy's voice sounds amazing, but honestly everyone's voice does.. I especially like Tails voice, really fits his character

The writing here is brilliant and makes Tails into a surprisingly scary character, as it slowly becomes more and more clear that although Tails is under the guise of a helpful friend, he doesn't really have Amy's best interests at heart and it makes Tails seem more devious and threatening than any villain the games have had yet

Tails and Amy’s voices were top notch, the way Tails says “what are friends for?” As each time he says it, the animation gets more darker showing that he’s covering up the fact that he’s breaking Amy down to her lowest point, until she’ll do anything just to make Sonic love her.
