My son and I are a few months in the PC world. We just built our own gaming PC. I can't believe how easy it was. And how blessed we are to live one hour from a microcenter, 45 min from Newegg and 30 min from skytechgaming. Please please the only advise I have is set a budget and stick to it. It is easy to rack up the bill and in all the excitement you end up buying more than what you need. Not everyone needs i9 or 8tb of memory with water-cooling.

I needed a mini PC because I live in a dorm with a tiny desk and I went with the Nova PC from MicroPowerPC. It has an i7 and an RX 7900 XTX. The PC is beautiful and the case is made out of aluminum and has an integrated handle which is great for me because I can take it to and from college when I travel. Super happy to finally have a good PC

You folks reviewed a Cyberpower prebuilt at Walmart with a Ryzen 5 7600 and a RX 7600, cost was $899 and you guys seemed to like it. I found a pawn shop on eBay that was selling it new for $600. Couldn’t pass it up!!

I swapped out the single channel 16 GB of RAM for 32 in dual channel, swapped the RX 7600 for a 7900 GRE and swapped the crappy almost stock cooler for a Be Quiet tower cooler. Sold the RAM and the RX 7600 for about $250 combined, so my net cost to upgrade the three parts was around $450. Now I’ve got a damn solid, silent running PC for about $1050.

Built my first PC in 1985 and it only cost around $4000 to buld it. The company my dad worked for had him build it for them and I help him so I could learn how everything worked. Sadly because it was in Hawaii everything had to shipped from California so it cost even more than it would have if we'd live on the mainlland as they called the lower 48.
