These are all banks that - in my opinion - are some of the best out there. These are the banks without minimums, fees, and other absurd charges - that also pay you a very good interest rate on your money. Generally, online banks have much less overhead and - because of that - they can pass those savings on to you by paying significantly more in interest!

Number 5: Discover Bank
This bank has no minimums, no monthly maintenance, free access to over 60,000 ATMs, AND pays a 1.7% interest rate on their savings account. With their checking account, even though they don’t pay you any interest - they WILL give you 1% cash back with their debit card, which is better than nothing - and way more than most banks ever give you.

Number 4: Ally Bank
You’ll enjoy all the benefits of no fees, no account minimums, no fees on incoming wires, and no fees on cashiers checks. And in terms of the fees they DO have…they’re pretty upfront with what they charge. In addition to that, with their checking account, you can also make .1% in interest for doing absolutely nothing…and half a percent if you have above $15,000. Their savings account will pay 1.6% on all balances.

Number 3: Capital One 360
When you open an account - you’ll have zero fees and zero minimums. BUT…where this comes in SLIGHTLY better than Ally, is with the interest they pay in their checking account. Capital One 360 will pay you 0.2% on ALL BALANCES, regardless of how much you have…so this is PERFECT for people who keep less than $15,000 in their checking account. What makes THIS bank slightly different than most other banks I’ve mentioned, is that they have physical branches that you can walk into and speak with someone in person - known as a CAPITAL ONE CAFE. Besides that, you’ve also got their 360 SAVINGS ACCOUNT - that pays you a 1.7% interest rate on your money.

Number 2: Red Neck Bank
Yes, that is REALLY the name of this bank. Buy they’ve got some really great services - like their checking account: no minimum balance, no maintenance fees, $25 per month in free ATM services, and 2.25% in interest up to the first $10,000. And then you can get their MEGA MONEY MARKET ACCOUN, which offers 1.75% in interest up to the first $50,000…and then .5% for anything after that.

Number 1: Vio Bank (Savings Only)
The advantage of this is that it pays one of the HIGHEST interest rates out there right now…at a whopping 2.02% interest, with no cap as to how much money they’ll pay that on. Now, sure…it’s not a full on bank, but the other 4 options I just mentioned are…so, I think this 5th option would just be for the person who wants the highest interest rate out there in a savings account, and that’s it…then, here you go.
