Could a new tech startup kick the corner store to the curb?

In U.S. cities like New York and Los Angeles, many convenience stores are called “bodegas.” In Latino communities they are usually a fixture in local life.

The bodega is a place for last-minute, late-night shopping and a warm spot where you greet neighbors. They can also be places where the staff knows your name and how many creams you like in your coffee. Their local flavor and charm has helped them hold their own against big chain supermarkets.

But now a small device may threaten them. It’s also called bodega but it’s not exactly a store.

Correspondent Gerry Hadden reports from New York City on the new company Bodega AI, Inc.
