I read The Diviners a couple of years ago and I completely agree with your thoughts. The plot was just ok but the characters are what made it memorable!

I 100% agree with you about Rules for Vanishing. Not only did I find it boring and overly gratuitous with violence, I could not keep all the characters straight to save my life. It was hard to feel bad for anyone because I couldn't remember who was who. It's a real shame because the beginning was really good and the audiobook was done really well.

mc command center and UI cheats save my life while I'm playing Sims 4, makes everything so much easier. And someone else already mentioned but audiobooks while playing is a great way to sneak some books in!

My favorite book I read in January was either The Grapes of Wrath or Know My Name by Chanel Miller. Also I love how at the end of your videos you're like "I love you" because it's soooo sweet and we don't deserve it but aarrhhh ❤️❤️❤️❤️

I played the sims 4 since the beginning and have an obsession with collecting all the expansion packs ! Be careful with custom content it can make your game lag ! Also bugs haha. Good luck ! I get into the sims hole as well.

It sucks that you had a bad reading month!! I’m glad you liked The Diviners 😊 I read that book I think two years ago but I really need to get to the rest of the series especially now that all of the books are out!

It’s funny, I picked up Bloodlust and Bonnets because I didn’t know about it until your TBR. I also read it in January but I absolutely adored it! I’ve been recommending it to everyone.

I'm sorry January was a dud for you. Hopefully February is better. You're right about the note taking. I mean, I've read good booms where I had to take notes, I agree that it is the author's job to help us remeber what's going on and who's who. And if it's a sequel, to remind us what happened in the previous book because they wait a year to release them. Ok sorry, rant over LOL. I just ordered the Diviners and I am excited to finally read it. I keep hearing it is such a good book so I am really excited. I still want to check out the Wayward Children series too!

I'm so sorry January was such a disappointing reading month for you! I had a *rough* month too. My star average was 2.6 😭 I've never had a month with such a low star average! I still read 7 books, but I gave four 2 stars, two 3 stars, and luckily had one 4 star. I was picking up books I was interested in, 2 were even 5 star predictions, but this month just suuuucked. The 4 star was nonfiction called No Stone Unturned by Steve Jackson. Since I'm going into the forensic science field, it's probably more interesting to me than your average person.

Fingers crossed February is better!

Girl, I've been craving Sims 4 but know I won't get anything done if I go down that rabbit hole. My favorite book for January was Will My Cat Eat My Eyeballs by Caitlin Doughty. Pretty cute a little morbid and pretty funny.

Isn't The Diviners so good?? I LOVED the second one. I thought story was so much more interesting now that the characters have been established. I am excited to read the 3rd and 4th!
I had a meh reading month as well, but my favorite book was The Speaker by Traci Chee. It is book two in a not very well known fantasy trilogy that has a world with no books, except for a magic book that predicts the future! And of course the antagonists are trying to get their hands on this book. So it has the prophecy trope which is one of my favorites. This second book was a little dark but I stuck with it since I was invested in the characters. Hope you have a better February reading month!

Oh my gosh, I love the Sims 4. And I haven't been sucked back into it in a long time, but there are days I have urges. I just resist because I know my reading life will suffer! LOL
