To be fair Americas coalition in Afghanistan saw large scale surrender in days and did topple the Taliban in 2 months literally sending them running for the hills. I don't see that as a failed invasion at least initially.

Hindsight being 20/20 the fail was not keeping Taliban remnants on the ropes and allowing them to regroup and return to Afghanistan and reclaim it.

I don't think it's fair to say the US was incapable of dominating Afghanistan. What happened was the US dominated the country, threw out the Taliban and kept troops there for 20 years, all the while trying to teach the post-Taliban military how to hold on to their country. However, while the US was leaving, the Afghanistan military refused to fight the Taliban and so the Taliban retook control. The bottom line is the Afghanistan army wasn't willing to fight for it's country so the Taliban was able easily retake it.

One other note concerning the United States and Canada, is the fact that there's so many people that go back and forth between the two countries because of "dual citizenship". They have family in both countries, they travel back and forth, and may even live in both seasonally.
Over the past couple centuries, politics may be the only real distinction between the two, as there are so many uniting factors between both, that if you mess with one country, you may end up having to mess with both.

Similar to Russia and Canada, Australia would be very hard to invade because of its size and isolation. During WWII the Japanese planned to invade Australia but decided not to because there is no land area close enough to Australia to launch a massive invasion and the Australians could retreat into the country and wage guerrilla warfare against Japan in the isolated deserts of the Outback.

Thanks Diane! As a Canadian I’m a bit surprised that Canada made the list to be honest. 🇨🇦 Happy Canada Day (July 1st) everyone!

I learned something new about each country today. It's interesting see the differences of how each country is protected from invasions and how the earth also protects alot of the countries. Thanks for making the start of the week joyful. Tomorrow is Fourth of July. I hope you celebrate with some American snacks, food, and give Chewie some American Dog Treats. 🍗🍔🥩🥳🍨

Canada is our Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde had to the North. They are polite but as soon as you put them in a war they are absolutely lethal. Shout out to my Canadians up north.

Just deal with the Canadian customs officials if you have any questions about how impossible it would be to invade Canada. They're tough! We have a great buffer zone there

The only country listed here that surprised me was India, but it makes sense, just never really considered it.

Your mom is a strategic genius, Diane!! Any country can invade any other country. It is just conquering them that is the tricky part. Happy fourth to you too. And happy fishing.
