Get the water boiling FIRST. This is a great method where you DONT need a coffee filter. Make sure to put the rest in a thermos or travel mug. It will not stay hot in the pan. Enjoy!

This is really cool. It's like a cross between Greek/Turkish coffee and what we used to call "hobo coffee".

In my childhood is how my mom used to make coffee every morning and night. In my mexico of the 80’s

Here in Colorado we also mix in some egg shells. Helps to cut the acidity in the coffee.

Are you getting banned for exposing big coffee and their years of lies about using filters

That looks a lot like the coffee we make when we are out camping or doing winter activities.

Thanks for this! I'm cutting back on my coffee consumption, and I find that preparing the coffee this way helps me appreciate it more and drink less of it. Perhaps this is due to the minimal but still slightly time consuming preparation process. Either way, so glad I learned this. And you're right, the rolling boil really brings out the flavor. Thanks George!

George, what you are making is pretty much Armenian/Arabic/Greek coffee! If I may, I recommend mixing a bit of ground cardamom pepper in there while cooking, gives it an interesting taste. Also, the more finely ground the coffee the better!

Thank you for showing us how to do that and thank you to the lovely lady who asked the question.

My grandpa use to make coffee like this. I started picking it up again after a small trip down memory lane. I drink my coffee black and this really is the best way to extract all the flavor.

Top it all off with the vortex method and BAM...coffee heaven!

Funny. It’s one of the few things my father directly taught me how to do. Making coffee. (Probably around age ten). An aluminium camp style coffee pot, boil and watch the water, add grounds (Nabob), timing, etc, But there was no cold water addition to sink the grounds. That i will teach to my son!

My coffee pot broke yesterday and the replacement isn’t coming for a few days. I was not happy 😣…then I saw this! Worked like a charm and my coffee didn’t have a single grind in it. It also tastes the way coffee should taste. Thank you for the video! 😄

It's like a combination of French pressed coffee and the percolated coffee that I used to enjoy back in my military days. The cold-water technique works better than I expected. It's a good cup of coffee and has that hint of nostalgia for me.

Excellent! Thanks George. Just made it today and it was great. The cold water step is KEY.

Hey George, have you ever tried Black Rifle coffee? I bought a bag the other day and those guys really know their coffee! It's amazing!

We used an old enamelware pot. Brought it to just under a boil and shut the burner off, stirred in around 5 (can't remember the exact amount) 50g scoops and let it set for 5 or 6 minutes before giving the top a light stir to settle the grounds. Last time I made a pot was around a week before my wife died. It's been sitting on my insert for the past decade.
