I explain why the Sony Bravia 9 MiniLed TV is a gamechanger because it is the first MiniLED TV that produces colors and blacks like a OLED but with the Brightness of MiniLED. It's not about the features and specs, its about the best package

Loving the backlight demo from 3:11 and enthusiasm David 👍 You may know there is a review with movie footage out now and I agree the Bravia 9 is looking to be one of the best performing TVs of 2024 (depending on what matters to the consumer) - kind of a modern Z9D flagship. Also good point at 5:14 - I like my picture to look like reality and LED gets nearer to real world levels of brightness. Btw hoping the hype around the new Bravia single number range might mean there could be some X95L discounts on the horizon 😃

So I have a question, I know the Bravia 7 and 9 do well in bright lit room. But it seems like the better control over the backlight will allow for the Bravia 9 to do better in a dark, especially at very low brightness settings. I have my tv always set at very low brightness at night, so will the Bravia 9 outperform the Bravia 7, So I do not mean so much contrast, but more colour accuracy etc. I have had minileds in the past that if you dimm the brightness the image colapses in general.

I really enjoyed your video. Thank you. In your opinion does the Bravia 9 have as good a picture quality as the Sony A95l. I really like Mini LED and from what you say in your video it would appear I would be very happy with the Bravia 9. Which would you choose the Bravia 9 or the A95l? Thank you so much

Sony and Toyota are similar in that they are very conservative in their approach to new technologies. I've noticed most Japanese companies are like that. Focusing in the practicality, functionality, reliability and efficiency of its products above all else. Never going all out with all-new technologies, rather they tend to develop their own and release it after years of long testing once they are comfortable doing so.

Do you think the Bravia 9 an worth it upgrade over A95L? Why no 55" Bravia 9?

I'm really wondering as a streaming and PS5 guy if it's worth already upgrading my 85" x90L to the Bravia 7. The 9 and OLED is just too expensive but the 7 if it's definitely a big jump I'd go for!

Still trying to decide but leaning toward it. Trouble is I'm cheap. And my space is a studio with tons of windows during the day but full dark avail for theater at night. I think the added brightness sells me, since I'm 65 and confuse brightness with detail anyway, lol!!

Wow when you see the Sony and Samsung side by side... Its night and day! How is that possible?

I hear you, bro. We got Sony and all three rooms and I’m definitely looking at that Sony Bravia nine I can’t wait to see that the G4 Samsung is nice, but they cannot touch what Sony puts out every year.

Does anyone know if the 85" bravia 9 has toslink optical digital output? I have SONOS and want to hook it up

I wonder if other people have the same thoughts as me. I personally don't care about the bravia 9 because it is way too expensive. But the bravia 7 now, I would love to see. Have a 7 v 9 and I guess include the 8 for an oled comparison would be great to see. The 7 would be in my budget. And it should have similar dimming algorithms as the 9.

What he says about Sony having better dimming software is so true. Even on my old X900E with 48 zones performs great and even better than a tv with twice as many zones that isn't a Sony

Folks when somebody claims a specific MiniLED TV beats a bunch of brands and even OLEDs without a proper assessment, they cannot be taken seriously. TVs are not like vacuum cleaners or other appliances this dude reviews, which are straightforward to identify if its good enough to beat another competitor or not.

TVs require proper tools and equipment, and much more in-depth testing to know if it performs as advertised. Not just by attending one close door event where they play selected clips on these TVs to make their TV stand out from the competition, and concluding that it's some god-tier TV that beats everything. Shows that this youtuber doesn't have the critical eye to identify a screens pros and cons.

I'm interested and a likely future owner of the Bravia 9, but this sort of video isn't really helpful, the worse I've seen yet with no effort put into it except for the bare minimum, repeating whatever the Sony spokesman said during the event. He did not even bother to spell the Mediatek Pentonic SoC right. It's Pentonic not Patonic.

Be cautious when listening to his bold claims that it beats the OLEDs, it is likely to beat the OLEDs in brightness at certain window sizes, but it will still exhibit blooming and suffer when it comes to micro contrast as the dimming zones are still far larger than individual pixels. Is it going to be one of the top MiniLED TVs in 2024? Quite likely. Is it going to flat out crush OLED in every feature? Absolutely not.

Do not get misled by overhyped lazy statements, you'll be happy with the Bravia 9 as long as you know what exactly you're getting and compromising. It's not a perfect TV that will beat all other TVs as this dude is suggesting.

I'm seeing the same scenario with Toyota being the only automaker not going full electric.Toyota chose to not lay all their eggs in one basket and focused on perfecting hybrids. Now the rest of them are following Toyota's strategy given the record profits Toyota has had while GM, Ford and others lost a lot of money.

you are doing a great analysis .
sony bravia 9 will be a monster and all big brands will try to follow this new back light control technique and upcoming oled panels will do the same (tandem oled) .
