Great review as always Thomas, thank you. Have driven this car for a year. The drivetrain can be amazingly frugal. It really is a fun car to drive. Spacious and practical interior layout. Yeah suspension is stiff but it feels stable and safe. Cons: weighs too much, Adaptiv Cruise Control- camera based- malfuntions way too often, maybe comfortwise less than ideal for really long trips. Lack of blind spot safety is just embarrassing at this price point. But all in all we still love our Mini PHEV. Its a character!

Very informative review. My sagegreen Countryman SE is getting born right now, expect to collect it in 5-6 weeks. :) Have been wanting a countryman for so long, and finaly pulled the plug.
Sure, the JWC is quicker, but the plug-in is quick enough and MUCH more economical.

I ordered one in the beautiful Enigmatic Black with Mini Yours wheels, Mini Yours Trim and full option spec. Delivery planned for week 12 (march 22). Can't wait.

Didn’t even look at these when we ordered our recently-delivered JCW. Having lived with a hybrid for three years, and coped with the compromises, I prefer to enjoy petrol whilst I can.

Ordered mine a few weeks ago and waiting for it to arrive in the US. Can't wait! I did get the Iconic, so some of the features are different. The ordering site is not very forthcoming about that ugly yellow plug I hope I'm happy with that!

I really like the new countryman and that comes for a guy that likes proper 4x4s. I d love an sd all 4 one, and would gave it an inch suspension lift and an occasional half inch from tires. X raid makes some lifted countrymans in colad with mini and they are the coolest thing

First let me thank you for another excellent review, Thomas. As for the car its beautiful, and yes the seats can be more comfortable if you spec it right and the same goes for the suspension. Smaller 17 inch rims, could be more comfortable. But the price of the car is way to expensive, considering the absense of blind spot, RCA, android auto and a proper hud.

That charging outlet with all the chrome is hideous. Looks like bad aftermaket part.

The electric range still not enough and the fuel tank still too small, doesn't quite hit the target for a 2021 phev.

Thank you for the review. Very interesting and to the point.
With so many gimmicks that MINI builds into its cars, you would expect that the sound of the direction indicator would be adjustable.
It's also interesting that there will be driver profiles who, due to short distances to work / home / the supermarket, will use the electric motor almost exclusively. After several thousand kilometers, it may be that the petrol engine has hardly been used and therefore suffers little to no wear, but the battery is already showing noticeable signs of ageing and deterioation... 🧐
