Blizzards affect mankind every winter, across every continent. Combining ice cold temperatures, snow and extreme wind, this mother of all storms is a living hell that has the power to paralyse entire countries. This broadcast is nothing to scoff at. I lived in these lake effect blizzards on the south east shore of Lake Michigan for many years in 1960's & 1970's in the middle of wide open flat farm land. Wise folks had high respect for Mother Nature & we all learned to hunker down for days and even weeks before giant road graders would clear 2 narrow lanes in the state highway a half mile from our gravel county road. -20° was the sunny days after these howling blizzards took a hike & were perfect for shoveling thru 6 ft drifts to make paths to outbuildings and get some exercise. I was brought up farming, so knew the hazards from my family history & childhood stories of my forebearers. Living out there was far more extreme than what I had in the East CoastMid-Atlantic states. 🥶

Love this! I love snow - went out at 5:00AM to walk in the blizzard. New York and New Jersey had snow all my life. We had Ski clubs in High School. You woke up and snow was up to the car door handles and said, No work today! No school! There was sleigh riding and ice skating. We had BEAUTIFUL Autumns!! Then, in the 1990s we had 90° days in October. We had two seasons. Not four. This year we had the first proper Autumn in double digit years. We haven't had snow in YEARS, something we had every year. I was raised in the Catskill Mountains, NY and love the cold weather - my sister moved to Minnesota. Our magnetic poles are changing, solar flares, the Earth is off axis - Every summer I pray for snow. I live behind the Statue of Liberty. This portion of the Country has lost it's Seasons and standard weather. If you told someone that, here, George Washington's troops froze to death, they wouldn't believe it.
Thanks for a great video!

As a Canadian resident I have the solution to all of these issues. When bad weather comes, stay home. I'm so sick of society putting presure on everyone to go somewhere or do something.
If you are driving in a blizzard you are the problem not the storm. Have to go to work or take your child to ballet? No you don't have to do anything. Ask your 10 year old if they would rather stay home and play or make a failed attempt to get to ballet and spend 2 days trapped in a car on the freeway and they will likely give you the correct answer. Municipalities should prioritize keeping the power on and clearing the main arteries for emergency services. Ignore the airport because they have food and shelter and chose to be there. You are not a doctor or a nurse. If you have elderly family call them and make sure they know how important it is to stay inside and not bother clearing snow. If you don't have a weeks food and medication in reserve during the winter you are part of the problem. You are no match for mother nature and frankly you aren't that important. Just stay home.

Brilliant documentary....more like this we had snow like this in Ireland....Ireland would shut down....we had a really bad one in 82 and Ireland was paralysed....2010 was a pretty nasty one compared to usa/canada....we only get a light dusting of the white stuff

Well as a Swede and sees least one major blizzard and here it’s obligatory to have winter tires on your car and they have to be replaced if not good enough if driving with summer tires you be fiend 100$ per tire and you can’t drive it until change plus you have to do vehicle inspection annually testing every thing from brakes, rust underneath, exhaust, Ball Joint, link arms, shock absorbers lights etc if other countries would do that I’m pretty certain mortality would drop and have a alcohol limit like here 0, 2 promil

Very very interesting documentary but don't like reading while watching. Would be better if you did a voice over like some other documentaries do.

Some videos should only be watched after you get stoned.
This is one of those videos.
