Brother, you have a good head on your young shoulders. Thank you for sharing this. I spent years in a denomination that sought to constantly thwart the sovereignty of God by placing all things in the hands of depraved, fallible men. One of the blessings that I have found in the belief in the doctrines of grace is that it is truly humbling and truly brings honor and glory to God alone. I often state that I am a Calvinist but only if I can define the terms that I believe. Good video. Every blessing this weekend.

Thank you! Appreciate your balanced views. I think the Bible supports Predestination a lot, but in my church (Lutheran), everyone is strongly in the Free will camp and it´s difficult to even discuss this.

Please consider not being a Calvinist. TULIP is not scriptural. I recommend you visit www.soteriology101.com if you have some time. I would also say Calvinists do not hold to Total Scripture. Most Calvinists are forced to re-translate and re-interpret many verses that if taken directly and literally would refute the doctrines of Calvinism.

A hyper Calvinist is only a consistent Calvinist. Anything else is just a confused Calvinist. The only way to avoid being a "hyper Calvinist" is to not be a Calvinist. It is the doctrine of the Devil, and completely unbiblical. I will pray for you 🙏. You seem like you are unaware (or very little) of what the Bible teaches and what Calvinism truly is...
All of the TULIP 🌷 is not Biblical. Calvinism preaches another Gospel, God and Jesus. It is a completely different religion. You can not be "Scripture Alone" and be a Calvinist.

Is hyper-Arminianism a thing too? Perhaps Pelagianism could be considered that. I used to be Mormon. On the whole, Mormons are in the pelagianist vein dare I say.

Allow my retort: three areas to cover for the opposite of hyper-calvinism that's hyper-Arminianism.
1. Evangalistic at all costs:
Including super fun rock band church, bouncy tent kids Sunday school, etc... When you depart simply preach the gospel and start adding all these new things, your in error.
2. Prayers remain biblical:
All prayers according to God's will. Not win the lottery or a new car...etc.
3. Non-Arminians are not saved:
That same heresy exists on both sides of the aisle.

From the points in your video, I would be a calvanist, but I guess my Confusion comes from where a calvanist stands on the individuals decision to believe the gospel.?

I've been damaged by the effects of hyper-calvanism... For years I've believed I couldn't be sure that I was saved, and that no matter how much I repent (by God's grace) it didn't matter because I'm depraved and don't have any response to the Gospel... If I'm not elect, then my steps in running to Christ are futile. I've struggled immensely with assurance for years and my twisted conclusions and logic have led me to look inward for signs that He has elected me and saved me. It's also led me to despair and doubt that God would listen to my prayers for salvation and to know Him. Do you have any direction for someone like me? Or any resources or books that might be helpful? Particularly anything that would be helpful in understanding salvation and what repentance looks like? Also, anything that would help me with my logic surrounded around the doctrines of grace? So that I won't despair every time I see the words election and particular attonment
