Rockslide derails West Virginia train, 3 injured

(8 Mar 2023) An empty coal train hit a rockslide along tracks in West Virginia on Wednesday morning, causing a fiery derailment that injured three crewmembers. (March 8)

You can tell it is an American train because it is off the tracks and burning.

Why are trains allowed to travel at a speeds that exceed their stopping distance without a spotter traveling ahead of them? If it took cars a mile to stop, we wouldn’t be allowed to use them.
