Taking the wrong seat then the host comes to ask you to stand up. It's so embarrassing.

So it's appropriate that we wait for the host to indicate which seat to take.

I see probably one exception to this rule, a kid's birthday party, especially under 5 years old. You sit when you can where you can, it's sometimes chaotic, but a lot of fun! 😅

I've always naturally felt wrong taking a seat without being told. Then I've been labelled as odd and awkward or overly shy for doing so 😅

I've had a job interviewer. And when meeting they didn't even instruct me to sit. That's when I got mixed up. And everything else is perfect with it. Probably according to them. I want all these directions from the employee but don't want to put outt their end. 😢

Do not exalt yourself in the presence of the king, And do not stand in the place of the great; For it is better that he say to you, “Come up here, ” Than that you should be put lower in the presence of the prince, Whom your eyes have seen.

I always stand until told to sit. When sitting i at times stand when the person comes back. Usually they catch me before i fully stand saying hi and kissing cheek or hugging me by the side.

This is so uncommon for people to do now days. I’ve always done it. And most host act like why aren’t you seating down? Me: I’m waiting for you to tell me 😂😂😂. Or you have the people that seat like they are laying down or putting their feet on the sofa, or letting kids get on the sofa with shoes and jumping like is a trampoline. Very sad to see that kind of behavior.
