Usually mirrors with no gap are just cheap ones, and don’t always mean there’s something behind it. The ones on the more expensive side are the ones with gaps I’m pretty sure
Edit: its liquified tin on the back of a sheet of glass, the reason why theres a gap is because theirs a sheet of glass between the tin and your finger.

If you’re paranoid of the mirror being sus just cover it whenever your asleep, changing or doing the nasty. Instead of the mirror, other places could have those hidden eyes ya know.

I'd rather just go downstairs and ask for a blanket or bedsheets and cover the mirror, the finger rule is often not correct as "mirrors" made cheap will also have no gap

The "gap" is just the thickness of the glass. The mirror coating is on the back of the glass.

I did that on a mirror close to my shower and THERE'S NO GAP but I accidentally knocked if off the door so it's good and there was just two nails.

the thicker the glass the bigger the gap, little gap doesnt mean bad, like the top comment said, it may just be a cheap mirror. what to look out for is the complete lack of gaps.

In her other video about the mirror she said she didn’t do that bc all mirrors aren’t the same and it doesn’t work sometimes. She covered the mirror though.

There is a simple explanation for the gap: there is a glass sheet between the reflective surface and your finger. A mirror without a glass sheet over it will give you "touching". I don't know for sure but i guess some pocket mirrors are made without a glass sheet.

The reason why there is a gap it's because of the glass shield in front of the reflective material .... Not because it's see through

The actual test is then on your phone light and hold it to the mirror.
If it's a one-way glass, you'll see the room one the other side light up.

Ok that’s scary. In my bathroom (at my house) there is no gap 😰 I’ve heard it might be because it’s a certain kind of mirror but its still freaking me out

I'm pretty sure those gaps are just protective glass and the ones without are just cheaper mirrors.

Ok, so another way I did this, is take a WASHABLE crayola marker and do a line or squiggle. And then just maybe use a baby wipe or toilet paper.

You can also check by touching your phone camera you will be able to see right through it if there is a room/camera there

I have mirror directly pointed at my bed just like that but it’s for the closet
