complimented is different. saying "hello, ma'm or lady, I just wanted to say you look nice today" is different than "Hey Girl!, How you doin? you free tonight? where you going? lemme get that number." so stop saying its a compliment, because its not.
also you cant tell a person how to feel. if she feels creeped out, she feels creeped out. geez.

All I can say is to yell back at them what they are yelling at you, it may embarrass them a bit or throw them off😁 and let me just clarify the thin line between a compliment and cat calls. Compliments uplift *you* (both genders) and are supposed to be polite. Cat calls are used to uplift *themselves*, and they don't do it so they can make your day, they do it in the hopes that you can make theirs (if you catch the drift😑). Also, catcalls are annoying and rude, and it makes you feel self conscious, even if you are dressed revealingly or righteously, it can happen both ways.

I used to think I hated that, too. Then I got old and gained that "unwanted" attention almost as much as I miss my thigh gap!
