Update the firmware. This allows the shoulder buttons to function for shield when lightly pressed without having to push all the way down. Literally a game changer

Thank you for being more informative than Kevin Kenson's review. that video appeared to be rushed. I already own this but wanted to see if anyone else could make a better video. This adapter is definitely worth every penny.

Edit: Please inform or pin a comment that explains you need to change the button layout for smash ultimate. Grab and shield are swapped and this controller in wireless mode is not recognized as a GameCube controller but a pro controller.

Thanks for the video I was disappointed with the no batteries as well It works with my wireless 8bitdo SN30 2.4G So I am fully wireless on my Switch and notice little to no lag.

Did anyone notice the manual online has extra instruction in it that tells you a 5 button combo that remaps from pro to game cube layout on the fly. L + R + A + B + Start. Green Led GameCube and red Led Pro controller. Also the firmware update is highly recommended.

Use the usb cable it comes with and plug it directly to the switch or switch dock. Why haven't anyone tried this bothers me. Works the same but without batteries. Also the 8bit wireless receivers for the classic consoles work on it perfectly.

I'm already imagining someone moddng this and putting it inside a gamecube controller with a rechargeable battery and cutting the cord hole bigger so you could charge threw that

My only problem is the swapped shoulder buttons when using a GC controller with this, since it shows the controller to the Switch as a Pro Controller. Luckily Smash allows you to reconfigure the controls to your taste and you can even save it as a separate profile.

Looks good. Just get a recharable battery setup. I have tons of Eneloop batts that I use with all my Xbox and Oculus controllers.
