One of the BEST parts about pepper plants is that under the right conditions, they will continue to grow for multiple seasons! Therefore, by bringing them into an indoor environment through the winter, we can not only overwinter them but have them grow for several winter months and be replanted in the garden full of foliage! In today's video I walk you through each of the steps to overwinter your pepper plants!

Great info! I'm going to give it a shot this year :) . My 2 cents - when you are going to prune the root and branches, don't forget to clean your scissors with alcohol for example - clean scissors are important :)

I’m thinking of growing peppers in containers to be able to overwinter them indoors ! I’m in Michigan! Great idea!

Jordan, I'd love to see some folks ups! It was great to see his brother and the growth there in just a short time. Now I wish I kept my peppers, though they were pretty bleached.

How many seasons would you expect a perennial pepper plant to last?

I’m bummed I Missed the Happy Hour for this but I’m still excited to try this! I live in Zone 9b, so our winters rarely go below 30 Fahrenheit. But it seems like anything below 32 will kill them. Plus I need the space for my winter garden! Love your turkey baster idea too, smart

I wish I had seen this video 2 weeks ago! I brought 5 peppers in from my Calgary garden but just did a straight transplant. I thought I would trim foliage later. Now I have aphid infestation in my indoor growing space. Tips on how to calm that down?

What temperature is ideal for the overwintering part?
I plan to keep it in the dark. Would between 40 and 50 be ok?

Great video! So ive tried to overwinter peppers for the past 2-3 years. seems the only ones that overwinter well for me are mad hatter for some reason.. the rest die off.. Also i find that they all seem ot die back along the stems (after pruning) with sort of a greyish fungus or mold that forms along the stems.. have you ever seen that? It happens every year.. Starts at the tips and works its way back.. just not sure what to do about that. I keep my pruned peppers in a heated greenhouse that doesnt get above 5C. Thanks.

Can this be done if you live in an apartment? Wondering if it would be too warm compared to a garage.
