I think I would really enjoy these things. I make a delicious meat pie- I got a recipe from a family friend- it has a sweet crust to compliment the spicy meat filling and cream cheese topping. I forgot until now. Thanks! Dreaming of visiting China, I'll have to settle for home cooking.

Nobody in 无锡 ever call the xiao long bao mantou - and not all the food there is overly sweet, I think someone took you for a prank - also, the most famous food there is the 三白 - the 3 whites, 3 types of white seafoods from nearby lake - and not sweet at all. Well, 小笼包 xiaolongbao is probably their most famous, but many mistakenly think they are from Shanghai - but the 3 whites is what is most local there.
