Testing Scholastic's Mini Bake Shop (Clay Kit)

Hey guys! today I am testing the mini bake shop by Klutz! Will this be a train wreck like most of my other craft kit reviews? Only time will tell....LOL

I am not the best at clay and I had zero experience with this weird sticky air dry clay. I have used polymer clay, model magic and paper clay, but none of them had quite this consistency though, so I was struggling a bit. This is like a busted clay tutorial, maybe for beginners.

BUT if you love to make little cute bakery items like donuts, cupcakes, cookies and cake, then this mini bakery may be a blast for you!

Hey guys!! So I've learned from the comments that my clay was sticky because it reached too high of a temperature at some point in shipping most likely. It should not be sticky! So if you get this kit and the clay has big bubbles like mine, exchange it for a new one without bubbles. Then it should work great!!

The reason your clay was sticking to literally everything wasn't your fault, or even the manufacturer's... It was most likely the store or shipper's fault. Air dry clay should NEVER be exposed to high temperatures. If it is the clay will turn sticky and develop lots of little air bubbles. So your kit most likely got too hot, but there's also a chance it was just really poor quality air dry clay...

I love how Opie’s little paws are hanging over the edge, it’s so cute and it reminds me of my cat who used to sit on the windowsill with his leg hanging of the edge.

Hack: put baby powder on EVERYTHING so the clay won’t stick and brush it of with a paint brush later
Hack: use water to smooth the wrinkles and lines you want to blend together

My favourite one is the unicorn cake because it has a lot of details and I love how u mixed colours to make the skin of it, u spend lots of time on the flowers which look amazing, the is horn awesome and u even put a little more stuff on it by putting leaves on it to finish it off
