==========

Dear Reader,

"Juaniquiqui" is a term from Caribbean Spanish that means "money." I've translated it as "benjamins" here. I left the word concón untranslated, but it's the term in Dominican Spanish for the toasted, crispy, crunchy rice that forms at the bottom of the pot when cooking rice on the stovetop. This is an aside, but Korean culture also has a similar term for the same toasted rice: 누룽지 (nurungji).

Ever yours,
Nicolette

P.S. I offer up my translations and lyric videos for free as entertainment for fellow lovers of the troubadours building our world songbook. No copyright infringement is intended.

I humbly request that you not upload my lyric videos elsewhere. May they only be housed here on this channel.
