Here’s a high level overview of why I am choosing which tire to use did the 521” big block Ford powered 1968 Thunderbird. Keep in mind, do your research for your driving and application.

My mother had four Thunderbirds (1959, 1962, 1964 and 1967) all with the 390 C.I. engine. I liked the 1959 best, but all made an impression in out rural county. I love that you get your son involved. He'll remember working with you always!! Hope you get to pass this along to him later in life or build his first car

I agree with everything you said, and especially wet, sandy, bumpy streets on DRs! You didn't get into wheels, but width is critical for DR. Plus, you can get super light track only wheels. Great explanation ⚠️

Good brief explanation of the differences between the two!

Agree with everything you said Jeff. A normal radial is useless on a car faster than mid 13 sec. I have a set of M+H racemaster muscle car tires they hook hard but drive horrible. I have a set of nitto drag radials they will do a 1.7 60' and they drive well. I think you made a good choice.

Great video! I just swapped my drag radials onto a different set of wheels because I got caught in the rain with them. Going to go with the Cooper Cobras for the street

Good stuff, good vid
Tried a season on the nitto’s and they were inconsistent. We run the Hoosiers now and they hook 1.63 60’ all day with a mild smallblock and 3.55 gear
Also, guys running street tires at the track, please don’t, it rips up the prep and ruins the track for the next guy.

I've got the Cooper Cobras on the 72 Charger. But of course it going to be more of a street hot rod with a few runs here and there.

Cool video and explained very well ! I agree u gotta grab and go ! But also nice to not have the situation your dad had with the Dart ! That’ll suck the fun out of a cruise real quick ! Lol. Take care

This is cool to see a large tire like this will fit under these cars! I didn't know a tire THAT big would go under there. I'm trying to figure out what I want to run... Nothing like for what your doing though haha but I want it to look for for the street. I don't need THAT much tire back there but it's so cool knowing they fit. If I want to with like say, a 27 x 10 tire, will whatever you have for rim size/ backspacing work also? If so, can I get the rim specs?

Good choice, after all you have 521 reasons for going drag radials. I had M&H StreetMasters on a 70 455 LeMans, not wet friendly at all.
