The scene of sample images is set in Kaohsiung, Taiwan, a beautiful harbor city. I am really stunned to see Canon chose my hometown to show the ability of this spectacular new lens.

This lens should be around $800-$900. As of now, it's too close to the same price as the 24-105 f4 L IS USM RF mount lens. Better build quality and more bang out of an L lens than just a IS STM motor lens. The 2.8 kicks butt tho! I, and it seems many others, just can't justify that price tag for it compared to how good the 24-105 is.

Hell, check out Sigma's price tag! If only Sigma had theirs in RF mount... (wishful thinking here lol)

Hello Cannon people. Where is the 50 mm 1.4 update the last one was over 20 years ago.

Will not buy the hyper expensive 1.2 L or the lower quality optics of the 1.8. so what am I supposed to do?

Thankfully mine is in great shape and produces wonderful images, but anything below 2.8 the AF falls apart. No way I can shoot at 1.4.

Where is this update? That would be the most overdue Canon surprise ever.
