On the 20th of March, AKSUNGUR successfully completed the first flight of the two-engine unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) designed by Turkish Aerospace Industries. PDI70 engines of TEI were used in the platform.
UAV, which took off from Akıncı's facilities in TUSAŞ, stayed in air for 4 hours and 20 minutes. In this way, after the TUSAŞ ANKA, the second UAV system was introduced to the skies.
USEFUL LOAD 750 KILOGRAM
The High Load Load UAV system used automatic landing and take-off on its first flight. The entire R & D budget of the aircraft to be used in exploration, surveillance and assault missions was met by TAI. AKSUNGUR, which can carry a total of 750 kilograms of useful load, can stay in the air for 24 hours.
BIT WITH THE TEI ENGINE
UAV used PD170 engines developed by TAI Engine Industry (TEI) on its first flight. Last year the PD170 engine was used for the first time in ANKA. Thus, the second user of PD1707 was AKSUNGUR.
